Activities in APAC17 and Bangkok Int’l Motor Show

We were invited to take part in the 17th Asia-Pacific Automotive Engineering Conference “APAC17″which was held in Bangkok on April 1-3, 2013 in conjunction with the 34th Bangkok International  Motor Show, the Thailans’s biggest car-trading event. 

APAC17 is the bi-annual international conference organized by Society of Automotive Engineer-TSAE, and co-organized by FISITA and SAE International. And the most recent events were held in Hollywood in 2007, Hanoi in 2009, Chengnai in 2011.
In Plenary Session, the chairman, Dr. Hiroyuki Watanabe intoduced the various ITS activities in Japan, featuring the innovation of the probe technologies as well as the flood countermeasures in Bangkok.  He concluded the collaboration between ITS Thailand and ITS Japan should support the ITS deveployment in the emerging economies.

In the Panel Discussion, the senior vice president Mr. Hidehiko Akatsuka and the panelists shared the views on the approach to enhance the road transport safety, and exchaged the opinions how ICT technologies could contribute to the traffic safety.

In the Motor Show exhibition area, our counterpart ITS Thailand offered the space for the Tokyo World Congress orgnaizing committee to have a stand for the event promotion.  ITS Thailand also introduced these two to the important figures, Mr.Chadchart Sittipunt, Minister of Transport as well as Mr. Woravat Auapinyakul, Minister of Science and Technology.  It was a great chance to appeal the 20th ITS World Congress.
